> I'm not sure if it's an infection or not, but all I know is this: at some point over the last couple of months, I started needing to go the bathroom to urinate frequently, can only do a little bit at a time, even though there's a sensation of a lot of stuff in my bladder.

> Anyhow, I suspected this was my Adderall, and not my Lexapro or some organic infection or something. So I tried no Adderall for 3 days, and by the 2nd or 3rd day I was urinating fine. And I also stopped waking up in the morning to, um, finding I let a little go at sometime during the night.

I'm pretty sure, since it's caused by the Adderall, some alpha blocker would help. But I really don't have good vibes about having to take an alpha blocker just due to my Adderall. I'm only 21, this shouldn't be happening yet!

As long as my GP doesn't go sending "recommendations" to "adjust" my meds to him, I'll be fine. (I could always claim it disappeared if it got to that point, I guess!)

> Anyway, any males on this board? I really would like to see if this is a urinary infection getting agitated by the Adderall, 'cause then some Cipro-type medication could help. I think, if necessary, I'll have to eventually try some alpha blockers if it is more of a nervous issue thing.

Funny that you mention this, I've had the same problem but not quite as often. I used to have this problem more when I was a kid, but have had isolated incidents as an adult. This seems to happen to me when I am excited or stimulated. When I was a kid I was never on any medications but as an adult I've found that when I'm taking ephedrine or Adderall that this is more likely to happen. The last few years I thought that it may have been prostate issues, but lately I have come to change my mind as it seems to be originating from another place.
I'm wondering if stimulation of the sympathetic system of the PNS is affecting the bladder sphinctor somehow. Basically what it feels like is after I urinate and empty my bladder, 5 min. later I feel like I have to go again. I may get a little bit more out, and then the process repeats.
What I found that seems to make it better is to not go to the washroom even if I feel like it, lay down for awhile and take deep breaths and try and take my mind off it. After I've relaxed considerably, about a half an hour after then I'm fine.
I'm not sure if it's the same as what you're experiencing. I only seem to have this problem in a blue moon, whereas you seem to have it more often. When I do have it though I can tell there is a marked increase in stimulation and anxiety.
Hopefully this helps you.
