In reply to Celexa with Wellbutrin/Klonopin....anyone?, posted by elainen on October 19, 2004, at 15:29:55
Hi,
Of all of the A/D's I tried, Celexa was the only one that I eventually liked, and I wish I had stayed on it. Your stomach ache could be caused by Celexa, but it could also be caused by a lot of other things because, to my recollection, 10 mg. of Celexa is a low dose and you've only taken it one day. I only took Celexa for a little over a month, but for the first 2 weeks I slept every chance I could get. I was exhausted. After about 2 weeks, I wasn't so tired and I noticed that my attitude was brighter and little things didn't bother me nearly as much. Why did I go off it? Well, I was getting ready to have LASIK surgery on my eyes in a few weeks and dry eyes is a potential side effect of Celexa (as with many meds), and because I have dry eyes the doctor didn't want to perform LASIK on my eyes, so I went off of Celexa to help bring moisture to my eyes.
My sister takes Celexa now and she's been on more meds than anybody I know and she likes it. I would suggest that unless you develop a rash or some other nasty side effect (I developed a terrible rash on my tummy with Buspar and a rash - but less terrible - on my back with Zoloft so I know these things happen), give Celexa at least a month to work. If by then you and your pdoc don't feel it's the right med for you, try something else.

> So, we thought we augment the Wellbutrin with an SSRI, I figured this would save me from hives, twitching and all the other nasty side effects I seem to get.
> Today I tried the Celexa at 10mg. Had the worst stomach ache in a long time, and got CRANKY.
> Anyone experience this? I know since this was the first dose there is a break in period, but does anyone think this might help me at all?
> I am at the end of the food chain here.
