Well in one sence, they had similar changes (ie they both can activate the same areas of the brain) but I'm not sure if CBT increases the volume of the hippocampus. Lets face the statistics. Major depressed patients can have up to 20% smaller hippocampuses. Imagine that, perhaps 20 % of what you know and remember, gone because of depression. I am interested in the treatments that can *really* reverse that loss.
