I was on 150mg Effexor for almost a year. I did alot of research on tapering before I attempted it on my own. I also found that there was very little withdrawl symptoms UNTIL I got down to 37.5 mg and then the hell began! Once I got down below 37.5mg I was physically sick. In my research I found that this is normal. Most everyone did well until they reached 37.5mg and below. I'm not sure why this is but at that dose the bad times begin. I got over confident on how well I was doing at the higher doses while tapering with no symptoms. I thought it was a piece of cake and I'd be done with the drug in no time. I thought I was one of those lucky ones. Boy was I wrong. I was impatient like you also. But it took me a month to stop Effexor completely and most of that time was getting from 37.5mg to nothing. The withdrawl effects were very scarey and put enough fear into me to never put any man made brain altering chemical in my body ever again. Now I am taking St. John's Wort and having better results.
