Hi:
In the descripiton above, you've been experiencing 'typical' Bp II with rapid cycler, about which you are already suspecting. In Bp II with rapid cycler, there are three different patterns, from 'high' 'normal' and then to 'low.' However, 'noise' in the back of your head, .... this is NOT 'hypo-mania' symptom and I never had one although, like you I have Bp II with ultra-rapid cycler(cycles three-four times per day). Then, I have no clue why you have this, 'noise.' You need to ask your pdoc. at your 'soon' appt. Thursday. In regard to Seroqeul, ... yes, I too agree with you. Using 'Seroqeul' is a sort for 'milder form of Bp II,' not for those who have 'rapid cycler' which is said to be a part of 'manic' symptom and also quite hard-to-tx for most of pdocs. For this reason, I needed to go through four different pdocs. and finally found a right pdoc. who is current one. In my case, on this problem of my Bp II, Zyprexa(2.5 mg. to 5 mg) and lithium(from 600 mg. to 900 mg.) combo. offering me normalcy to enjoy a life, after more than two to three years' struggle.
In regard to 'Depakote,' I was on it at the beginning of dx, back 6 years ago, however the Depakote didn't give me a 'relief' like Zyprexa and Lithium combo. doing. Actually, my rapid cycler got worse due to the inefficiency of this med., Depakote, although the Depakote provided me with calming/sedating effect to not get me into 'too' manic. Then, you may more likely need some stronger A.P. to get your moods under control.
