I am lambasting the good and bad of Effexor on other threads here. I had forgotten (um, I wonder why) about this side effect. If I don't write things down, I forget. I will go into a shop to buy milk then buy bread and forget the milk. I don't remember things from conversations but I do sometimes wonder if that is just selective forgetfulness.
It is not that severe that I have to get off the med. (The weight gain is though).
