FWIW, I think you're talking about Tardive Dyskenesia as a side effect. It was much more common in the traditional AP's. Some people have found that it can be countered by taking amantidine.

It's for this reason that I get slightly anoyed when I read about pdoc putting people on AP's for anxiety without trying somthing else first. The drugs works wonders if you need them and surely do less long term neuro-damage than a bullet, but they are too often used as a first line med, imho.
