I think it probably does have to do with what you mentioned above...I'm usually alone at night and I don't have to deal with anyone or be pressured to do anything since it's a time to unwind and relax basically..it seems like all the anxiety I experience during the day just releases at night..
I've been on the cycle of..sleeping during most of the day and being quite productive ( in comparison to day) during the night..
