How important is it to be consistent?

Posted by nolanjames on September 9, 2004, at 22:08:39

Hello,

I am taking a generic version of Adderall for ADHD, 20 mg twice a day. I take the first dose when I wake up, between 6 & 7 am and the second dose between 1 & 2 in the afternoon. Unfortunately, my work hours are long and erratic. On the days when I need to work late, I find myself struggling to concentrate after the second dose has worn off. My doctor suggested I try Adderall XR, but it didn’t work, so I went back to regular Adderall.

What I’m wondering is if I occasionally (1 – 2 times a month) skip a dose, enabling me to take an early evening third dose on the days I need to work late, is this advisable?
