This thread concerns me. First, I am glad to read you are feeling better. I have been on Effexor XR for something like three years (300mg...seems to need "adjusting" every couple of months now) and I have serious SI. It hits me out of the blue sometimes, but definitely if I am late taking my meds (I usually take them upon waking but when running late sometimes end up heading off to work forgetting...I try to keep some in my desk or in my purse but my whole brain is fried and my memory seems scrambled half of the time). Anyhow, by the time I get off work, the thoughts have already started. When my Effexor is working, it's a miracle drug. Keeps me more stable than I have ever been. But the short half-life screws me up quite often. In talking with my pdoc, he mentioned switching me over to Celexa. He said we would slowly ramp up the Celexa while I wean off the Effexor. I know what I am like after one day off Effexor and I have to honestly say I am scared of what I "might" do while coming off the stuff. Especially if Celexa magnifies those feelings/urges. I moved up my next appt with my pdoc to discuss this.
