Typically, Prozac would be the most energizing of the SSRIs, and Zoloft is also relatively activating. I have not tried either Celexa or Lexapro. Paxil and Luvox are the two most sedating SSRIs.
In the tricyclic class, most of these drugs are relatively sedating, the only real exceptions being desipramine and protriptyline. Desipramine is considered to be an activating AD, while protriptyline is generally quite stimulating. However protriptyline is so anticholinegic it is difficult for me to recommend it.
Most of the other ADs, such as Serzone or Remeron, seem to have sedating tendencies, but some people may react atypically. Wellbutrin is a combined norepinephrine/dopamine reuptake inhibitor that is generally rather energizing. The MAOI Parnate is also relatively activating.
