Hi:
My pdoc. normally writes down a prescription slip whenever I visit his office. Otherwise, it seems he does NOT rx any of meds. Only office visit to allow his patients to get a rx slip. I normally goes to his office two months' interval and he ALWAYS asks whether or not I need any of meds.

Back last fall of 2003, I saw a slip close to his secretary/office manager saying, ... NO LONGER rx over telephone. However, I was NOT too much concerned, since I get all of my med. slips from him personally. I never received any of my meds. over the telephone and this procedure seems to me 'normal' for all of pdocs. since I had four different pdocs. from one visit to four years'(current pdoc.).

Besides this, on my last visit in his office, a bright slip hanging the wall close to office manaer, saying they(not my pdoc. also other pdocs. in his practice) will charge all paper works, such as SSDI, documents for the court appearance and all other stuff(I can't remember others tho'). Then, if you need med. refill, then your pdoc. applying a routine procedure which other pdocs. exercising.

Having seen this, a bit of 'nuisance/inconvience' getting a rx slip, I, too agree that if your condition is NOT complex form of M.I.,a family/general docotor could be better for your situation, "too busy to go to see your pdoc."
