~~~Actually you are. But, you aren't going to hear that from most sources when researching. Unfortunately, oftentimes, docs aren't well informed either. Klonopin has been used for about 40 years. It is quite safe and following some simple guidelines can give some of us years of good treatment without pitfalls.
Addiction has a set of behaviors and characteristics:
1. Psycho-Social disruption
2. Tolerence not leading to a maintance dosing
3. Inapproiate use
4. Drug seeking behaviorPhysical dependence is quite different from addiction and I'll take that any day over not having a life due to anxiety.
I have used Klonopin for almost 3 years with great success. My dosage is low and has never increased, to date, from my original dosing.
Benzos are not a suitable treatment for everyone but, for some of us, they actually successfully treat awful toxic anxiety when other "stuff" or strategies simply do not.
I bet that was a lot more than you really wanted to know, wasn't it?
Can you tell I'm an advocate? I needed to be as when I came here around 3 years ago, there was no "me". There were a lot of folks telling me I would regret ever hearing of Klonopin. I have not.
