Hello, this can be indicative of Bipolar disorder (don't panic).. fully treatable /w a mood stabilizer
> Hello. I've been taking 5 mg of Lexapro (for a major depression) for about six weeks. After about four weeks I started to feel a little too amped: hard to concentrate, emotionally numb, a little too zippy, a little too good. So, on doctor's advice, I reduced dosage to 2.5 mg. Within five days I was so depressed I couldn't see straight. It was terrible. So I called doctor back and she bounced me back up to 5 mg. Now it's been about a week and I'm just barely, barely out of the depression, but still moving slowly, feeling sad and unfocused and unworthy.

> I've read a bit online about "hypomania" and I'd say that describes the "amped" feeling I had. But does this mean I'm bipolar and the Lexapro just triggered it? Or does it mean I just responded hard to the SSRI? This is my first anti-depressant and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.
