> I've been on 200 mg of Lamictal/80 mg of Celexa for about a month now, and each day I feel progressively slower and weaker of mind. My memory is getting worse, my attention more so. What is going on? Is this Lamictal, or the high dose of Celexa? And are these results reversible?
Whatever cognitive side effects you experience with these drugs are reversible - set your mind at ease.It has been my experience with Lamictal that it can indeed impair memory and dull thinking. I had particular problems figuring out mechanical things while taking 300mg. Short-term memory impairments were profound.
I'm sure Celexa has its own cognitive treats to bring to the table as well. Some people complain of "brain fog" while taking it.
For me, dropping the dosage of Lamictal produced an almost immediate decrease of mental impairments. It might be worth dropping back on it for a few days to see if it is the culprit. I have never had trouble going up and down on dosage of Lamictal, but you might err on the side of caution on the way up. If it were me, I would drop the Lamictal to 100mg as an experiment for 3 days. You might then go back to 150mg for 2 days before re-establishing 200mg.
