I have been taking Lexapro, currently on 30mg, for over 2 months. I am now depression free. As for the insomnia, which lessens with time, I take a very low dose of Remeron one quarter of 45mg tab (11.25mg) at bedtime. I tried one half tab but was too groggy the next day. One quarter tab seems to allow me to sleep without feeling groggy the next day. Since I still had a half bottle of 45mg Remeron, I just had to try taking Remeron based on my previous experience with it. The only thing I am conerned about is weight gain. Hopefully, this won't be a problem.

I've done a lot of reading on Lexapro and my only real concern with this drug is that I keep reading about the side effect of insomnia. (i suffer from insomnia due to anxiety -- why would I want to take somethign that makes me more anxious). Questions are: has anyone NOT suffered from sleeplessness on Lexapro..is this a condition that fades or lasts through the duration AND lastly, how does Celexa compare with Lexapro (i know the relation between the two) in terms of s/e of insomnia (most importantly) and heightened fogginess/sleepiness during day?
