Hi Lonely:
If your husband continues gaining a weight due to Seroquel, then Trazodone is a good choice. I've been on just over a couple of weeks on Trazodone, however 'sleep well' is quite amazing. Not only sleep good throughout the nights, also feel 'refreshing' feelings I feel in the morning. Trazodone works both depression and Anxiety. In the beginning of Trazodone therapy, I started on 75 mg. due to 'sedative effect' during the day, although my pdoc. rxed 300 mg. before the bed. Now, I'm on 150 mg. and plan to increase its dosage with time, probably over the period of two-three months.I know that some of folks do NOT go well with those Anti-psycho. med. although the statisticallly there is a TREMENDOUS benefit from taking those APs.
In my suggestion, your husband may need to see a psychiatrist rather the Neulogist who is NOT quite familiar with mental illness/problems.
H.G.
