Hi guys,
I having mounting frustration finding the right medication to treat my agitated depression and anxiety from BP. I tried to hit 200 MGS of Luvox but after 150, SSRI Akathisia has crept into the picture and I'm suffering. Thank god for a crumb of Ativan, which has finally helped quell the fire. I'm currently taking 300 MGS of Trileptal and want to up that to 600... I'm so irritated as it seems like everything goofs up my dopamine levels and increases anxiety and agitation... immediate release adderall was hideous as it caused such severe drops in dopamine levels during crashes that I thought I was going to lose my mind.
All I want is to relieve my agitated depression and get back to living. I view the mood stabilizer as a wonderful thing, but I need to know what I can do to help quell the anxiety and severe depression without having akathisia and further anxiety problems... on an SSRI alone, my moods flip flop and I become racy and driven by a motor... compeltely unacceptable beahvior. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't see Benzos as a permanent answer but rather a "treat" for when things get bad. IF anyone has insight or advice that they may offer, I'd be very greatful. thanks.
