In reply to My pdoc says Valium Halcion are the same thing!, posted by jerrympls on August 4, 2004, at 23:36:08
Hi Jerry,
Perhaps it's time to find another PDOC then if this one isn't working for you. That's too bad that he's intimidated by knowledge, my PDOC loves it. She told me today how well informed I was, and seemed appreciative that I was taking responsibility for my health.
I hope everything works out.> So -I saw my pdoc a couple days ago and finally got him to agree to put me on Halcion for my insomnia (which has worked well for me in the past). However, it was such a tug of war I couldn't believe it. I'm also taking Valium during the day for anxiety. I explained to him that Valium, Xanax, Ativan, etc. don't make me sleepy - they just help with anxiety. So he responds with "Well, since you're on Valium, ALL your benzo receptors are already saturated so taking Halcion wouldn't do anything - and it's basicallly the same as Valium."
