I've always wondered about that, since a number of meds have made me radically depressed almost immediately. I doubt they'd have turned around.

I did have a weird experience with prozac though. It has a really long half life, and I took it for a few days and got really depressed and agitated. A week or more after I stopped I realized I felt better than I had maybe ever, and it lasted for months. I repeated the treatment for a couple of years with slowly diminishing returns.
