the other drug is adinazolam. I know someone who treats her depression with Xanax, and from what I know about her situation it is associated with fewer adverse effects than SSRI treatment, in her case at least. Adinazolam was abandoned, from the hints I have gathered from isolated abstracts, because of the widespread prejudice against benzos, and the rigid conviction that anything with 'benzodiazepine' in its chemical name (prefaced by 'triazolo-' or not) could not be an antidepressant. These facts indicate that 'antidepressant' is not an altogether innocent term, it has been stained both by some curious exclusions and some equally dubious inclusions.
