forced into hyperthyroid

My shrink is considering pushing me into hyperthyroidism. Has anyone else tried this?
I am hypothyroid right now and BPII. I am on Topomax and Lamictal. He has heard this has worked for some....my main problem is rapid cycling from manageable highs to major depressions.
Any thoughts?
