I'm late to work more often than not because of the heavy Seroquel hangover - EVEN if I take it 8-10 hours before I have to get up. It's a love/hate relationship because it knocks me out wonderfully (if one can be knocked out wonderfully?) but its hangover is too much.

jerry and friends,

i sympathize ... i had been diagnosed bipolar in 2000 and have since been on a regimen that includes neurontin and seroquel.

i, too, have developed sleep problems with these meds and struggle to find a solution.

initially, on seroquel i was sleeping too much, but with little hangover. and gained a lot of weight ... 80lbs.

currently, i am switching from seroquel to geodon (an "activating" antipsychotic) which causes insomnia, but should allow me to lose a lot of the seroquel weight. wish me luck.

now suffering from insomnia again, my doctor has prescribed 12.5 mg. of ambien nightly and it works moderately well. BUT THIS is the drug that creates "hangover" for me.

are you dumping seroquel for the weight issue or because of the hangover effect? are you sure which drug is causing the hangover?

i'd like to hear? any insight anyone?

jt
