I would think you would want something a little more heavy duty than a beta blocker for what you are talking about. Beta blockers are used for situational anxiety, such as before giving a speech, and they are not particularly powerful anti-anxiety meds. I have suffered from what you are talking about myself, along with a host of related problems, and I've wound up taking an extremely powerful med to treat it. I would hope you would be able to treat your problem in a less drastic manner, but I would recommend getting into touch with a mental health professional if you have not already done so. This can be done with a referral going through your regular doctor.Todd
