Tianeptine marketed as the brand name Stablon is a Selective Serotonin ACCELERATOR not REUPTAKE inhibitor like that of the True SSRI's and Partially of Venlafaxine [EFFEXOR].
Although the net effect is to increase serotinergic transmission, tianeptine increases serotonin inside the neurons as opposed to synaptically. This might produce different side effect profiles.
As for your original question:
Citalopram [Celexa] and Atomoxetine [Strattera] might produce similar actions.
Less specific ones includes:
2. SSRI's + desipramine
3. SSRI's + low dose imipramine
4. SSRI's + Stimulants [dopamine would be included.]
5. SSRI's + Reboxetine
6. Clomipramine + Stattera [caution]
7. 5-Hydroxytryptophan + Strattera OR desipramine OR imipramine.
8. Moclobemide @ doses of 600 mg per day in divided doses.N.B.
Clonidine is a central adrenergic-2 agonist that results in DECREASED sympathetic outflow resulting in an ANTI-ADRENERGIC EFFECT [ant-norepinephrine]peripherally, that is outside the brain [slowed heart-rate, decrease blood pressure [dose dependent], sedation.Hope this helps.
