Hey Starlight, (for background info i'm bipolar2, anxiety, adhd)
i'm also on trileptal and my obgyn said it is a class C drug. I am on five different drugs so she numbered them if i get pregnant which ones i need to get off right away and which ones can stay throughout pregnancy if needed. Trileptal she numbered as 4 so there were three other drugs i'd need to stop first. which was promising to me but the class level wasn't that good. A- would be like orange juice, absolutely nothing wrong and maybe even good. B-there are a few known side effects but not many and nothing life threatening for the baby or mom. C- there are a larger number of birth defects and D-guaranteed birth defects.
if i remember right this is how the classification goes. (not verbatim obviously). but you get the picture.
Hope everything is well, but i would not wait i would get tested as soon as you can, mostly for your mindset and to keep you healthy. Knowing will also allow yourself time to titerate off the drugs if that is your choice. The most important thing here is your health!
Just Becareful Starlight. My OBGYN said she had one patient that when she found out she was pregnany she stopped all her bipolar meds at once and she ended up in the hospital because of some SERIOUS side effects.btw-just a side note, before i got on the right meds i was spotting a lot, i was told because of the high anxiety that i was having. So maybe it's just an physical reaction to a different level of your affective disorder?

> I'm a little tweaked. I had several days of spotting and then nada! Which is extremely unusual for me. I take trileptal, lamictal and have just started effexor, which I'm really liking. But if I am pregnant, I'd be very concerned about how the drugs would impact the baby. I don't know for sure yet, and part of me doesn't want to know. I'll probably wait a couple of days and then take a home test. How did everything turn out?
