Does anyone take Memantine-need help with fatigue

Posted by florence on June 12, 2004, at 18:54:14

Please offer any up-to-date info on this drug developed for Alzheimer's Disease. I am bedridden with chronic fatigue. One dr.who treats CFIDS says that NMDA is more stimulated than GABA in pts with this condition. So, would an NMDA antagonist help with fatigue. I have been bed-ridden with unrelenting fatigue since January. Provigil gets me out of bed for a few hours but then my mood crashes just like with Adderal XR and Ritalin; then I have to take Xanax, etc, ad nauseum. No antidepressants have put a dent in this fatigue or depression. So, please do not mention the so-called activating ADs. They simply do not work for me. Any current info on memantine would be appreciated. Also, does it make sense to take it along with Provigil? Please somebody try and help. I tried Serzone again and it gives me insomnia just like Trazadone.
