I've found Xanax useful for occasional help with obsessive worry (0.5 - 1.0 mg) but I develop tolerance to it quickly. It's great as an "emergency" med. Klonopin is much better for me (for regular use), and I also do well with Lamictal for its general calming effects (although I find it very subtle).

I can't tolerate SSRIs at all, but a close relative had fairly good results with Luvox (an SSRI) for OCD. She also uses Xanax on an as-needed basis (rarely, like me).
