In reply to question about pregabalin(lyrica) and neurontin, posted by krybrahaha on June 6, 2004, at 3:21:48
No, neurontin WILL still be available. Do not worry. Pregabalin or "Lyrica" is a NEW drug according to the FDA. It has different indications, different molecular struture, side effects etc... It is, however, in all aspects I have seen so far, superior to neurontin. its esentially based on neurontins chemical formula, but very much tweaked, and upgraded. its like windows 3.1 to windows XP with the bug fixes and the Plus! pack added on. heh. Its a new drug , based on the same principles of neurontin though, so it really is novel, new, and probably will be amazing IMO.
I will be the first to try it once it comes out, until then, neurontin is my mainstay therapy.
kind regards,
