I'm Bipolar II but have been depressed for several months, I take Lamictal and Trileptal and recently had to get my scrips from my GP rather than my Pdoc because - he's Fired for confidentiality issues! So my GP has taken over my current med refills until I see my new Pdoc who I pray is a kinder more sensitive person that I can trust. She comes with good recomendations at least.
So I asked my GP to add some welbutrin to the mix - she did, 150 mgs, extended release per day. I told my husband and he's concerned that it will exacerbate my anxiety. I think my anxiety is basically overall negative thinking patterns that need to be addressed (which I'm trying to do). They are pretty PTSD'd in there - and it takes awhile to root that stuff out.
Are there any antidepressents out there that do a good job of calming (tried Zoloft once and loved the initial feeling - I felt so calm!) but don't cause weight gain? Weight gain is a very big issue for me. I won't even get on a scale at the Dr.s office. I tell them, "no thank you." Not even before my surgery. I think one time in the last 7 years someone insisted and I threw a fit and made them promise not to allow me to see the number. - Recovered eating disorder person - proud to say that it's been 11 years!!
Or what would be your suggestions for adding to the Lamictal and Trileptal?
