No withdrawal from the Prozac. The only time I've ever had withdrawal from Prozac was when I had been on a higher than average dose for a long time. And even then the withdrawal was NOTHING compared to Effexor withdrawal. Its been awhile but I'm pretty sure I only needed to take 20mg of Prozac on two different occasions. Like 4 or 5 days apart. I had already gone through about 2 or 3 weeks of Effexor withdrawal when I heard about taking the Prozac. Prozac has a VERY LONG half life compared to other AD's and it seems to kind of attach itself to whatever Effexor is left in your system and is like an automatic taper. It made a dramatic difference for me. I've actually used it to withdraw from another AD the same way. The thing is that if you've never taken Prozac before I can't say what side effects you may have from it. Usually though, at a low dose and for a short period of time the Prozac shouldn't have many side effects if any. Personally, Prozac has been the easiest AD to tolerate for me.
Good Luck
