In the Effexor literature, it says that it is a weak inhibitor of dopamine reuptake, but he is saying that in reality, it is futile to expect much of an effect on dopamine from Effexor. In theory, this might be possible, but you would need an extremely high dosage of Effexor, and it is just not practical.

Some people feel that you can also get a dopaminergic effect from Zoloft if you go high enough in dosage, but it is kind of the same situation as it is with Effexor. You would need to exceed the maximum recommended dosage, and I question how wise or practical this actually would be.
