I guess the Nardil in my system was stronger than Remeron, Ambien and Benadryl. I knew my new pdoc went strictly by the PDR's recommendation that MAOIs are not to be mixed with any kind of AD, so I did not even ask him if I could take Remeron with Nardil. I just had to give it a real good try myself, and although the combination had no ill effects on me, it did not help me to sleep. It is too bad because Nardil was effective in lifting my unipolar depression.

>Hi FST,
I guess I would call that severe insomnia then! :) and I apologize for implying that you have not given Remeron much of a trial. Your reaction to nardil is possibly a pradoxial reaction to it's GABAergicness.(Is that a word?) I would not let that stop you from trying Parnate as insomnia on Nardil would not mean that you automatically have insomnia with Parnate. Lean on your doctors to give it to you since you now have experience with MAOI's & nil tyramine diets.
Cheers,
Panda.
