I take Paxil, Lamictal and Klonopin and together they are really working for me. It has taken about 9 months to get the right meds/doses. I take about 2 mg. of Klonopin throughout the day, one or two at a time at .5 mg. I take 25 mg. Paxil CR and 200 mg. Lamictal. (one at a.m., one p.m.)
So far so good. The only side effect I seem to have is some weight gain from the Paxil. Otherwise I feel great. I think sometimes we just have to put up with the side effects because anything is better than hypomania/mania and major depression (at least for me).
My doc. is very comfortable with giving me the klonopin. I would find a doc. that is fine using a benzo. Some are and some aren't. My husband sees someone who would never prescribe them. My doc is conservative but she thinks they work really well for me.Good luck.
