Celexa vs. Lexapro - Any Verdict? Anyone? Chemist?

Posted by Simcha on May 23, 2004, at 3:40:31

I've seen a lot on this board about Lexapro and people switching to Lexapro. What I cannot seem to glean from the discussions is what really matters to me.

Can anyone tell me if switching from Celexa to Lexapro was worth it?

Currently I'm on 40mg of Celexa. My pdoc, the last time I saw him, said that he would consider changing me from Celexa to Lexapro sometime soon. He did not say anything definite.

The thing is that Celexa seems to work for me. I'm wondering if that allegedly ineffective R isomer might be doing something for me possibly and that by switching to Lexapro I might be missing something.

Chemist, do you know if the research really does say that the R isomer in Celexa does nothing but produce side effects?

Thanks for your responses in advance.
