> Funny you should say that, a few days ago I had waves of goose bumps with a tinge of adrenaline come over me slowly in response to being a little bit cold(nearly winter here). Drugs that increase serotonin can upset your body's temerature as it is controlled by some serotonin receptors, some people suffer bad night sweats. Same goes for your digestive system, Effexor gives me bad nausea that I could never shake, I take Remeron to counter the nausea & it gives me a great nights sleep. What digestive problems are you suffering & how long have you been taking Effexor?

Yeh, I had adrenaline surges with severe goosebump chills. I had a horrible time getting up to 225 mg of Eff., then + 30mg Remeron. Had several special Dr. visits and one ER visit (massive adrenaline surge).Had every injury I ever had become painful. Found out I had fractured a T-vertebrae that I didn't know had been fractured. Also, found out I have mild degeneration of part of my C-spine. Then a bone density scan showed some osteoporosis in my left hip.( I'm only 50).
I didn't get nausea from Effexor -- but ulcer type sympyoms (gastritis). I've been on GERD meds since 1983. I also have an hiatal hernia. Had upper and lower GI endoscopy after I had reduced dose to 150 mg, and Dr. saw and biopsied lower esoph.. Showed Barrett's Esophagus, which can be a precursor to cancer in some people. My brother has terminal esoph. cancer, but I'm hoping it doesn't get me in future. I've been on Eff. since late Dec. of last year. Plan to take it or something else the rest of my life.
Forgot to mention that high 225 mg of Eff. with 30 mg Remeron also gave me flushing episodes, sort of the opposite of the adrenaline surges.
Thanks,
Fires
