I used to take Effexor (Venelafaxine) which gave me head aches, body tension and list of other things. So 18 months ago I changed to 30mg of Paxil (Paroxetine); any less won’t do. Since then I have noticed considerable loss of cognitive control, forgetfulness, inability to concentrate and difficulty to analyze and makes sense of the written word like newspaper articles and so on. By the way I am only 45 years old so, hardly senile.
I have tried a number of SNRIs and other androgenic medication to supplement and/or replace Paxil. All of them give me tension as well other problems like kidney pain, difficulty urinating and, painful ejaculations (I rarely ever manage one).
Then recently I came across DHEA and that, how wonderful it is. So I tried it (100mg twice a day) concomitantly with Paxil but I am getting the opposite effect. I feel sleepy and even more tired. I have only been taking it for a week but I am starting to doubt its wisdom.
Does anyone have any idea of what it going on?
My other option is Olanzapine which I would rather not. I am worried I go on Olanzapine and still not be able to come of Paxil, which those who know, is hell to come off. So the devil you know that the devil you don’t has become my philosophy. Besides, it is hardly certain that Olanzapine it going to work.
