Hi AMD,
I have been on Zyprexa for 2 years (give or take a month or two.) Initally on 20 mgs, to bring me down from manic delusions. I felt like a zombie for the first couple of weeks, but other than that, I think it's a great AP.
The Lamictal you are taking is so miniscule that I don't think it would even have any effect on you; is your pdoc keeping you at 25 mgs, or is he having you raise it gradually? I take 350 mgs, it works well as an AD and very well as a mood stabilizer. It will help with your rapid-cycling.
"But now I'm afraid of the Lamictal! So I am trying to ween off that. Which leaves me at good ol' Celexa. And I don't know if weening off Lamictal is helping now, or hurtin..they keep giving me mood stablizers, but I feel like SH*T! Mood stablizers leave me depressed, /and/ make me feel slow".
Lamictal, IMHO, doesn't cause those side effects, especially at the dose you are taking - in fact, I've never had any negative side effects (except for dizziness.. lowering it from 375 to 350 mgs did the trick.)
Although celexa, which I also take, has been a great AD for me - I've tried many - at the level you're taking is, IMHO, way too high. Shoot for 20 mgs, or possible even 10. Yes. I know it's scary lowering a drug that you feel is something good - but again, celexa is known for causing rapid cycling and sometimes hypomania.
I know this is a lot to take in - I'd give your body a little more time to adjust to the zyprexa..
Hope you feel better,
Man-oh-man
