withdrawal from Zoloft

Posted by ladydee54 on May 8, 2004, at 18:59:48

I took 100 mgs of Zoloft for about 3 years.
I was very effective and I really did well on it,
except I gained quite a bit of weight, and also my feelings were beginning to feel artificial, if you know what I mean.
Long story short, I spoke to my MD about tapering. I did taper as she said. When I was down to 25 mgs every other day, I had the head zaps like crazy, even had to miss work.
She then put me on 10 mgs of Lexapro, I was supposed to taper there too, but only took it for a week, then went off, I figured the dose was so small anyway. I have been off the Lexapro now for 10 days, the head zaps and dizziness are terrible.
what to do? I am terrified that I may have permanently damaged my electrical system, YIKES, and I wonder just how much my MD knows about this stuff. If I go in for help, she will just want to put me on something else. Also I hear ringing in my ears from time to time.
Emotionally btw, I am fine, it's just these zaps and dizziness that have me wondering if they will ever ever stop. I don't think I can afford the Immunocal, is it really that effective.
Any input is appreciated.
thanks
