Anyone used sonata for more than a month

I have long time sleep onset problems and became addicted to ambien. So that is a "no-no" drug for me. i am on a variety of AD's and mood stablizers, but falling asleep is a major problem. Sonata seems to help but does not give me the addictive need I had with Ambien (the need to escalate the dose). Question is --can sonata be taken for more than a month and still be effective? Thanks
