I would like to say that I have a history of somatization disorder and that I believe that I have been treated unfairly by many doctors. Because of the nature of somatization disorder and its ability to manifest physically that which is held in the mind, the dissonance of what is in the mind and a "real" symptom are made. I have had side-effects with drugs and they are not taken as seriously because doctors often believe I am making them up in my mind. However, this is quite mean especially when the symptom experienced is a common one many people have on the given drug. I think doctors should be more responsible and give the benefit of the doubt to the patient, at least as true to being in human nature as possible and giving action to grant a peace of mind to the patient.
