Hey all,
This post is related to the one above about military duty.
I've decided to go off Nardil for a number of reasons. It was a tough decision, because I love that med. But basically, I decided it would be best for the following reasons:
1. Weight gain - not good during PT in the military. I gained about 10 lbs. I was really trim before (I'm still in pretty decent shape, but noticably portlier). My mile time has suffered.
2. I have tried exercising, and get post exertional hypotension while on Nardil. I don't want to be blacking out in the summer at Ft. Sam Houston, while running my tail off.
3. I seriously doubt Army docs would maintain me on this. So I figure, I might as well go off while I have the chance to taper slowly.MAN, this stuff is hard to get off of! I have done the Paxil hell, with zaps and all, but this is a whole other ballpark!
I'm doing much better now, chipping away 1/4 of a 15 mg tablet per week, and should be off it by the time I enter officer training.
My question is, what is a good pace to come off this? I've read about reduction schedules for Paxil, benzos, etc. Not much has been written in the way of Nardil, however. Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, I can't use the Prozac cross taper method.
I'm sweating a lot, my appetite is gone (perhaps a good thing), and I feel *way* too aware of everything. I also get crazy palpitations. My dreams are pretty wild as well, with some very disturbing content.
Anyway, is there any easy way to do this? What is a good schedule? How long does it take to normalize? Right now, my body senses even small reductions of 1/4 tablet of Nardil!
Advice please?
Thanks!
