Hi rinna,
You are kind of contradicting yourself there: "I've been feeling so much better", then "I don't want to be on this s#@t anymore". Just wanted to point that out. Anyway, I take celexa but not at such a high dose (10mg) so I suffered from "inhibited orgasm", in other words, it can take over an hour to reach orgasm. Very straining and irritating, when my partner(s) climax in 20 - 25 mins. at the most. So in taking 40 mgs, I can see why you wouldn't orgasm at all. Oh, btw, I don't think your thoughts are "shallow". Consumation, sex, orgasm or whatever you want to call it are vital parts of sexuality and being human :)
My pdoc added Wellbutrin XL to the mix (300mg) and that did the trick. I am not sure why your pdoc is hesitant - and if you added the wellbutrin I don't see why your pdoc wouldn't lower your celexa. Okay, two questions here, as well. A:) are you seeing an MD (i.e. general practitioner) or a psychiatrist? A pdoc would probably be more sensitive to issue. B:) what is your dx?
I can see your dilemma, tho: quality of life depression wise, or quality of life, as in sex life. I can't answer what is more important for you, but I can tell you that there is most likely a middle ground.
Sorry for the super long post,
Hoping for the best and keep me posted,Man-oh-man
