I recently took Ultram (tramadol) 100 mgs. per day for about two months for back pain. I also take 30-50 mgs. of Adderall XR per day and 1.5 of klonopin. I didn't realize Ultram was considered an SNRI? I thought it was considered to work like an opiate, without the danger of addiction of vicodin, etc. I know Ultram is still a narcotic and considered potentially abusive, but I could tell my doctor felt this was a safer bet than an opiate.Anyway, while on the Ultram, I definitely felt better mentally as well as physically. Unfortunately (Fortunately??) I wasn't given an unending supply of refills and didn't press for one. I feel like the last thing I need is to add another drug into my amphetamine, benzo combination and risk dependency on yet another drug.
I also took Effexor for over a year with the Adderall, but found it too activating. I lost so much weight on the Effexor/Adderall combination and was really "wired". I dropped the effexor for lexapro with no problem and then did away with the lexapro all together a few months ago and found I don't really need an AD to survive.
I don't know if that was any help, but just wanted to let you know I combined Adderall and Ultram for two months with no problems.
Take care, Katie
