high there, chemist here.....contrary to previous post, active metabolite of diazepam is desmethyldiazepam. half-life of elimination is between 30 and 60 hours, with the high side for elderly folks or those with liver problems (hepatic impairment). this means if you take therapeutic doses daily, you will be fine, as the ``new'' dose kicks in before the previous one peters out....all the best, chemist
