> hi there....if you are trying to get up and go, remeron might not be your best bet, given the very potent histaminergic effects, although sinequan will start you off good and sedated but ought to taper off....then again, these meds affect different people in different ways, so perhaps you will find relief with remeron....best, chemist

>Hi Chemist,
I admit that it is a radical idea to take downers to solve an oversleep problem, but it did wonders for my problem. I had initial insomnia + hypersomnia. I've had initial insomnia all my life & developed hypersomnia when I got depression. Remeron sedated me extremely well for awhile. I'd watch TV for the 30 minutes it took to absorb the tablet & then I would go to bed & not even remember rolling over once. My bed use to look like animals had slept in it, now I sleep like a log & wake up refreshed & no longer feel like I need a afternoon nap. 15mg was perfect for 8 hours sleep, I'm on 30mg & it is making me sleep 9 hours unfortunately. I need 30mg to couteract nausea from Effexor otherwise I would still be on 15mg. I also developed tolerence to the stoned/sedating feeling from the Histamine blockade & don't feel forced to go to bed, but I still go to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow & I wake feeling pretty good & happy.
Cheers,
Panda.
