Hi, does anyone know if having ect might equate a future resistance to meds. I ask this because I am going to my pdoc this thursday and we have tried "virtually everything" and I am going to strongly "reccomend to him" that we give ect another trial...I had a decent response to it in fall of 2001 but I was on FXR at the time and I also did something very dumb and decided that I felt so good that I thought I could handle alcohol- which slowly then pretty quickly brought me back down in to the 'pits' again... I am sick of just getting partial or no response from AD's -- I would love to exercize and incorporate some other things into my life to help keep the depression at bay but right now I just am so low that I physically am so fatigued that it is next to impossible to do anything. Also my pdoc won't prescribe stims to me because I have abused them in the past so that option is out for 'get up and go'! I just feel like my brain needs a "jumpstart"
so I can incorporate some major lifestyle changes like consistant excersize , losing weight, eating right, and NOT drinking again!!- so I can start to have a life again.. does this make sense to anyone? any replies are appreciated !
thanks
