Traditionally, this is associated with tricyclic antidepressants and other drugs that have a strong histamine blockade, such as Remeron. Blockading histamine H1 receptors seems to induce a craving for carbohydrates in some people. However, this is not the case with Effexor, which has zero affinity for histamine receptors. In your case, the increase in your soda consumption must be occurring by some other mechanism.Todd
