I have never heard that caffeine and benzo's are mutually exclusive. I know that caffeine stimulates some of us anxiety types and I know that benzo's are system depressants; but if you're not one that caffeine sets off without a benzo I doubt that taking the benzo would make any difference.

You might consider expresso (1/3 the caffeine of drip coffee) or even green tea (1/3 of expresso)as alternates. Green tea has other antioxidant benefits as well.
