I had an absolutely horrible withdrawl effect, i was taken off symbyax abruptly and started immediately on another slu of drugs and the second day off, i noticed things getting a little blurry and i was Real Tired, didn't think much of it- just thought side effects of new meds- well it got to the point that i couldn't focus on anything and when i tried to get up out of my chair i couldn't move, my muscles started to posture- Luckily i was in the hospital when this all happened (and in one of those lovely groups -ha) which after 25 minutes they finally noticed something was wrong. I was fully aware of what was going on but i couldn't speak, couldn't seem to get the words from in my head to out my mouth. couldn't walk -the nurses (3) practically drug me to my room- my arms from the elbow down and my legs from the knee down were so numb and tingly with pressure i felt like they would burst at any moment.
after about an hour i was able to talk clearly again-still couldn't walk legs too weak.
The nurses also said that my eyes were doing weird things _each one moving in a separate direction. They said my blood pressure had dropped dangerously low.
Again i have to say i'm very glad this happened in the hospital. However, the doctor said he had Never seen this with Trileptal, that he thought it was a side effect from stopping zyprexa (part of Symbyax.)
So i just wanted to post this to A)see if anyone else had this scary experience B)to mention it so you all could be aware of this possibility and stay with someone for a couple days if you suddenly go off Symbyax or Zyprexa.
